Yleistä
Litupistiäismäisten yläheimo Platygastroidea on perinteisesti jaettu heimoihin Platygastridae ja Scelionidae (esim. Gauld & Bolton 1988), mutta nykyään kattipistiäiset (Sparasionidae) ja meiltä Suomesta puuttuva heimo Nixoniidae erotetaan omiksi heimoikseen (Buhl ym. 2016).
